Northern Rivers Tourism is a not for profit member based association. We are a destination marketing organisation which represents the Northern Rivers region domestically and internationally while striving to provide leadership and direction for the region and its tourism industry.
An incorporated association, Northern Rivers Tourism was established in 1995 and is one of thirteen regional tourism organisations across New South Wales. Northern Rivers Tourism ‘s mission is to develop and promote authentic and diverse tourism experiences for a sustainable future for the region. The regional footprint covers seven local governments and shires: Ballina, Byron, Tweed, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Lismore and Kyogle.
Northern Rivers Tourism’s vision is that Tourism is integral to the culture, economy and community of the Northern Rivers. We offer a range of benefits and services to members including access to marketing opportunities, industry forums, business advice, interpreted research, promotional resources and advocacy in the interests of regional tourism.

Who We are
Russell Mills – Chief Executive Officer
Russell Mills is a tourism industry professional with over fifteen years of experience. Prior to joining Northern Rivers Tourism in 2008, Russell was European Regional Director for Tourism NSW based in London, with responsibility for trade and consumer marketing in the United Kingdom and Europe. Russell has also worked in destination marketing and publicity roles with Tourism Australia, Tourism NSW and industry experience in the backpacker sector.
Jessica McClean – Destination Marketing Officer
Jessica McClean began her career with Tourism Australia in the International Media Relations and Trade Events teams. After working on events such as ATE, Japan Australia Mission and India Travel Mission; Jessica is loving her new role on the other side of the rego desk! After a year as an Aussie Specialist with Australiaresier based in Oslo, she returned to Australia to work for Schoolies.com.
